The Learning Place offers a wide selection of Computer workshops, starting with the Computers for Beginners. This workshop offers individuals an introduction to the operating systems, hardware and software, email, creating and signing into a user account and improving the navigating and typing skills using proper programs. The computer’s for beginners’ program will also teach online and email safety, formatting text in documents and using a web browser.
With technology becoming a part of our everyday lives, The Seniors Digital Literacy Program (SDLP) aims to reduce social isolation, foster independence, and advance the basic computer skills of older adults living in the Peel Region.
The Learning Place’s Literacy and Basic Skills program offers a range of reading comprehensions, spelling, grammar such as sentence structure, parts of a speech, punctuation, and capitalization, writing sentences, paragraphs, and introductions to essays.
